1. How do the wireless driveway alarms work?

Our wireless driveway alarms have a sensor with a passive infrared lens that activates when it senses heat and/or motion. When the sensor is triggered by a person, car, or large animal, a signal is sent to the receiver in your home that will alert you with the sound of your choice. The ideal maximum range between the receiver and sensor is 1/2 mile. The sensor has a maximum 30ft detection distance, and the sensitivity level can be adjusted to a low mode (approx 20 ft.) and high mode (30 ft.). No wifi or monthly contracts are required for this product. Additionally, the system is weather-resistant and designed to work throughout all seasons and during all hours of the day or night. It’s perfect for detecting when someone is on your property or approaching the home, when the mailman or delivery man arrives with that package you’ve been waiting for, and more.

First thing to note is that all of our driveway alarm kits are wireless with a ½ mile sensor-to-receiver range.

Our eMACROS driveway alarm kits feature solar and rechargeable sensors. Our 4-zone kit has a receiver that supports up to 4 sensors and comes in two receiver design options (square or round). Our 7-zone kit has a receiver that supports up to 7 sensors and comes in two color options (black/brown and white).

The Hosmart driveway alarm kit features rechargeable sensors and a receiver that supports up to 4 sensors. This product is offered in two color options (black/brown and beige), and has a lower price point.

3. Are the solar wireless driveway alarms and the rechargeable driveway alarms compatible with one another?

Because our eMACROS and Hosmart kits are completely different models, they are not compatible with one another.

4. How are the wireless driveway alarms powered?

Our eMACROS wireless driveway alarms include solar-powered sensors with solar panels, as well as built-in rechargeable batteries. The receiver runs on 4AA batteries or an AC adapter (included).

Our Hosmart wireless driveway alarms include a rechargeable sensor without solar panels but with built-in rechargeable batteries.

5. Why am I getting false alarms?

Each sensor is automatically set at a pick up distance of 30 ft. Adjusting this distance down to the “low mode” sensitivity level of 20 ft. can help to eliminate false alarms. Please review your product’s manual for more information.

6. What is the difference between the two receiver options for the eMACROS 4-zone kit?

Both the square and round receiver designs offer the same capabilities. They support up to 4 sensors each, and they feature 4 different chime choices to be assigned to each of the different sensor zones. Both run on 4 AA batteries and feature a low-battery alert. The square design is our classic version, and the round design is an updated version with higher quality.

This product is powered by a 18650 battery that can be recharged with a power bank.

2. Will this system get a signal in a metal shed without interference?

A metal building or structure may cause interference, so it’s best to place your intercom near a window.

3. How can I use the intercom as a monitor?

This intercom system has a setting that allows you to easily monitor playing children, sleeping babies, or elderly loved ones from another room. Simply set the unit in the room you’d like to monitor to “monitor mode”. Please refer to your product’s manual for more information.

4. Can I move an intercom from room to room?

Yes, our units are wireless and portable.

5. Can someone reply to me if I speak to them through the intercom while their unit is in monitor mode?

No, they will need to quit the monitor mode first, then press the call button to respond. Please refer to your product’s manual for more information.

6. What is the group button for?

The group button is for communicating to users while they are on different channels. Please refer to your product’s manual for more information.
